Online Individual classes

  The use of the headset and microphone, along with a webcam will make you feel better than if you were having a face to face class by giving you more privacy. Screensharing is another feature which makes the online class a unique experience. I usually ask my students to have at least one textbook and I also send extra activities through the Internet. Besides using the traditional materials used in English courses, I also make ample use of media available in the internet such as You Tube interviews, articles and audio files. All of this generates a pleasant, spontaneous flow of conversation topics between student and teacher. The student also has the possibility of choosing his/her own articles, media from the internet and texts related to his/her own area of study, work or hobby, thus making the online class a personal, tailored learning experience.

In this type of class the student will still be in the privacy of the place where he/she chooses to have his/her online classes , but he/she will have online classmates. Quite possibly these classmates will be in different time zones and different parts of the world. This makes this type of class a truly global, international experience. As the students may have different nationalities and different native languages, they will have to use English to communicate with one another. The cultural diversity this kind of group can promote is a unique experience in itself. The students will be grouped according to similar levels of proficiency in English and a syllabus will be used to cater for the goals of the group as a whole.
